Prof. Brendan Bunting
Professor Bunting is a member of the Royal Statistical Society, and a member of the Mathematics, Statistics and Computing Section of the British Psychological Society.
He has taught research methods and statistics for over 30 years, and has been involved with the supervision of over 35 PhD students. His work has been influential in areas as diverse as diabetes, research methodology, mental health, suicide, education and clinical trials. Brendan has been involved with the publication of over 250 articles in peer review journals. His h-index is 47 and i10-index is 129. Over the years he has held research grants from many sources of funding including the ESRC, MRC, R&D(NI) and HSC R&D Public Health Agency.
Amongst positions held he has been the Director of the Bamford Centre for Mental Health, and the Deputy Director of the Northern Ireland ESRC Administrative Data Research Centre and Deputy Director of the MRC (NI) Clinical Trials Hub. Currently he is a member of WHO World Mental Health Surveys (a grouping of some 35 countries), led from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is also on the Northern Ireland Approvals Group for the use of government (linkage) data for research.
